SMBRA – St Margarets Banks Residents Association

Welcome to the St Margarets Banks Residents Associations, also know as SMBRA, where we hope you will find a source of useful information about the area that you live.  We are located in the heart of Rochester, near the old Railway Station, Town, Castle and Cathedral, the SMBRA group has been in existence for over 30 years.

We are a group of local residents who share a common interest in the future of Rochester, St Margarets Banks and the surrounding area, stimulating an attractive and safe environment in which to live. Our aim is to promote the interests of those who live in and around the St Margarets Banks area. To this end, our preliminary objectives are:

to promote a strong and sustainable residential community in the area.

to be actively involved, where possible, in influencing council policy affecting the area.

to lobby the council and other agencies where we believe that existing policies and services are not being effectively delivered.

to develop ideas and initiatives aimed at the improvement of the local environment for the benefit of all stakeholders.

The Committee group meet on a regular basis to discuss developments in the St Margarets Banks area and review the objectives above.

Membership is £2 per year and this covers items such as Neighbour Hood Watch leaflet drops and other small paperwork and printer costs. We also hold our AGM at either a public event location or at a committee members house where we try to get as many members together to socialise, put faces to names and discuss the area that we live. If you would like to join, please complete and submit the form on the contact page, so that we may arrange collection of the money and welcome you to the neighbourhood. We look forward to seeing you soon.
